This is not Jessica Alba's first trip 'Into the Blue.'
Alba spent the early part of her career in the roll of Maya on the TV show Flipper. The fact that Alba is stunning in a bathing suit didn't hurt, but it was her credentials as a PADI-certified scuba diver that won her the role.
Born in Pomona California in 1981, Alba fell in love with the idea of becoming an actress at age five. She started taking acting classes at age twelve, and just nine months later was signed by an agent.
Alba got her big break in 1993 where she was hired for a bit role in the comedy Camp Nowhere. When the actress in the principle role had suddenly dropped out, Jessica stepped in and received her first film credit.
She has pretty much worked nonstop ever since starring in countless TV commercials and several TV shows including stints on Brooklyn South, Love Boat the Next Wave, and even Beverly Hills 90210.
But everyone knows it's her starring role in the TV Cult hit "Dark Angel" that has brought her superstar status.
Alba, who has a beautiful 34-25-34 figure and is just as stunning in person as she in on the screen, talked to GirlsNewsDaily.com at a recent Hollywood event about how she keeps in shape.
"Oh I weigh about 120 pounds depending on when I'm training," Alba said. "I don't think I'm your typical thin actress, but I'm truly happy with the way I look, and fortunately my fans seem to like my look as well."
Referring to her upcoming project Into the Blue, Alba said it's a great thriller.
"It's one of those movies that just builds upon suspense," Alba said. "I loved the script, and I knew it was for me when I saw it involved all that scuba diving."
She said she hasn't gone scuba diving in months, "So when they were going to give me a decent pay check to go scuba diving in the Bahamas for five months, I was like 'Cool!' That's honestly why I had to do that movie."
Her millions of fans are also glad she chose to do the movie as Jessica and Into the Blue, which premieres in theaters everywhere September 30th, are receiving great prerelease buzz.
