Comedians recently performed in Beverly Hills, Calif., to help ailing children. The all-star lineup included Chris Rock, Ray Romano and David Spade.
A Night of Comedy 3, held March 19 at the Wilshire Theater, helped raise money for the Children Affected By AIDS Foundation. Doris Roberts has hosted the event for 13 years.
As celebrities were escorted down the red carpet, reporters and photographers -- including staff from GirlsNewsDaily.com -- stood by to interview the performers and capture images of them on camera. However, some of the comedians such as Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Garry Shandling skipped the red carpet and slid in through the back door.

Among those to speak with reporters was David Spade. He told GirlsNewsDaily.com he was encouraged to perform at the event "because it's pretty serious and I got it easy and these kids don't have it easy so I gotta do little things when I can."
Doris Roberts, the show's host, told GirlsNewsDaily.com how she has always had a funny bone for making people laugh.
Other entertainers billed at the event included Kevin James, Dylan Walsh and Patricia Heaton.

| Lydia Cornell, the former costar of the 70s show Too Close for Comfort, said that while she may have always been a comedian, her time with Too Close's star, the late Ted Knight, was a highlight. She told GirlsNewsDaily.com she used to love old comedians and child actress Haley Mills, and she just loved Woody Allen films.
Lauren C. Mayhew told GirlsNewsDaily.com she has a new movie coming out this summer called American Pie: Band Camp. She said she was encouraged to attend the comedy benefit because anytime she can contribute to a good cause, she does.
But on top of that, Mayhew said she was looking forward to some good comedy.
